Original Job Title: Technical Expert-Manufacturing Assembly

Job description
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of manufacturing and process engineers;
  • Oversee manufacturing processes with a strong focus on plating, injection molding, stamping, and precision tooling operations;
  • Drive automation technology adoption, including robotics, vision systems, and advanced control systems to improve productivity and quality;
  • Evaluate and implement new equipment, tooling, and processes to support product launches and capacity expansion;
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Quality, Supply Chain) to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness of connector components;
  • Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for production issues;
  • Ensure all manufacturing processes meet internal standards and external customer and regulatory requirements;
  • Manage engineering project budgets, resources, and timelines;
  • Champion Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement activities across the production floor;
  • Support factory layout, capacity planning, and capital investment decisions; and
  • Drive ME team in achieving Migration & NPI project timeline.

Qualifications/Requirements

Qualification and Expertise
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (Master’s preferred);
  • 8+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in the connector or electronics industry;
  • 3+ years in a leadership or managerial role;
  • Proven hands-on experience with plating lines, injection molding machines, stamping presses, and tool design/maintenance;
  • Deep understanding of automation systems, including robotics, PLCs, HMI interfaces, and machine integration;
  • Proficiency in CAD tools AutoCAD, Creo and manufacturing software (SAP, Andon, ECN, VKS, ERP, etc.);
  • Knowledge of ISO/TS16949, ISO9001, and applicable industry standards;
  • Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma certification;
  • Tool design capabilities;
  • Knowledge in TEOA Tools; and
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
