Lead Infra Tech Support/Network Specialist

Job description:

Manages and regulates computer software systems and network connections to ensure high levels of availability and security of the supported business applications.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Participate in and supports capacity planning and the development of long-term strategic goals for systems and network in conjunction with end-users and managers.
• Deploys workstations, servers, printers, scanners, firewalls, encryption systems, and all host security systems.
• Recommends, schedules, and performs network and security improvements, upgrades, and/or purchases.
• Administers all operating systems, end-user software, servers, networks.
• Manages communications emails and connection solutions, including workstation connectivity, local area networks, company Web site, intranet, and internet applications.
• Ensures the integrity and security of company network and data transfer.
• Sets-up and manages end-user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations.
• Anticipates, mitigates, identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves hardware and software problems on servers, input/output devices, and workstations; escalate incidents as necessary.
• Analyzes system, server, application, network, and input/output device performance.
• Recommends, schedules, and performs software and hardware upgrades, patches, reconfiguration, and/or purchases.
• Researches on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of systems software procurement and development efforts.
• Performs network and security audits.
• Creates schedules and conducts post-implementation evaluation on IT preventive maintenance.
• Develops and maintains network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
• Creates required reports in response to business user needs.
• Supports application development teams throughout project lifecycles.
• Submits required reports in a timely manner.
• Provides regular update of performance.
• Conducts periodic performance review as required by the organization.
• Supports and develops staff through proper coaching, motivation, and management of career.

Job Specifications:

• Graduate of BS Computer Engineering/Computer Science/Information Technology
• Certification in particular technology such as Microsoft, Cisco
• In-depth technical knowledge of network, PC, and platform operating systems, including Windows Servers, Microsoft Exchange Mail Server, Microsoft ISA Server, Antivirus Server, and other software applications and platforms (i.e. Linux, Cyberoam, etc.)
• Broad hands-on knowledge of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, data encryption, and other industry-standard techniques and practices.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP and network administration/protocols.
• Hands-on experience with devices such as hubs, switches, and routers.
• Knowledgeable in network configuration, installation/administration, programming, troubleshooting.
• Knowledgeable in server, laptop, desktop, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledgeable with Supervisory and Management Concepts, ERP (i.e. Netsuite) concepts, Project Management and Technology Software.
