Accounting manager

Job Description

The Accounting Head will work closely with the executive team to enhance economic performance and business growth.

1. Financial Management and Reporting:

• Oversee the preparation of financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and reports.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with GAAP/IFRS.
• Conduct variance analysis and recommend corrective actions.

1. Cost Accounting:

• Manage and analyze cost accounting functions including product costing, standard costs, and variance analysis.
• Implement and maintain effective cost-control measures.

1. Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Lead the budgeting process for the manufacturing division.
• Prepare long-term financial forecasts and operational budgets.

1. Internal Controls and Compliance:

• Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Ensure compliance with corporate policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.

1. Financial Strategy and Analysis:

• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic planning and decision-making.
• Analyze financial data and trends to identify areas for improvement and growth opportunities.

1. Team Leadership and Development:

• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.

1. Collaboration and Communication:

• Collaborate with other departments to support overall business objectives.
• Communicate financial performance and insights to senior management and stakeholders.

Qualifications/Requirements

1. Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• CPA or CMA certification is a plus
• An MBA or advanced degree in finance or accounting is a plus.

1. Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
• Proven experience in cost accounting and financial analysis.

1. Skills:

• Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Effective leadership and team management abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
