Location: Hybrid - Pampanga (2 times a week)

Job Overview

The Tax Accountant will primarily focus on the preparation and lodgment of company tax returns and ensure full compliance with Australian taxation laws. You will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to support accurate and timely tax reporting and advisory services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review company income tax returns in accordance with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax effect accounting calculations (e.g., deferred tax assets/liabilities) for financial reporting purposes.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant tax legislation, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Manage the preparation of BAS, IAS, and other statutory filings as required.
  • Maintain up-to-date records and documentation to support tax positions and audits.
  • Collaborate with external tax advisors and auditors during tax audits and reviews.
  • Provide support for tax planning initiatives, identifying opportunities for tax savings and risk mitigation.
  • Keep updated on changes in Australian tax laws and regulations, and proactively advise the business on impacts.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of internal tax processes and systems.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CA/CPA qualified (or working towards completion) is preferred but not required.
  • 2+ years of experience preparing corporate tax returns within public practice or a commercial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the Australian Income Tax Act, ATO regulations, and corporate tax compliance.
  • Proficient in accounting and tax software (e.g., Xero, XPM, MYOB, HandiTax, or similar).
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and a methodical approach to work.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently or in a team environment.
