Job Title: Production Supervisor – Cosmetics and Household Manufacturing
Job Summary:
The Production Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the production departments for cosmetics and household products. They are responsible for ensuring production targets are met with high quality, efficiency, and compliance to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety standards, and regulatory requirements.They supervise production staff, manage production schedules, coordinate with other departments, and continuously drive process improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Planning and Scheduling
○ Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demands and inventory goals.
○ Allocate resources efficiently and adjust schedules as needed to optimize output.- Operations Management
○ Oversee all manufacturing activities for cosmetics and household products, ensuring adherence to SOPs, quality standards, and safety protocols.
○ Coordinate raw material availability, production processes, packaging, and dispatch activities.
○ Ensure timely production with minimal downtime and wastage.- Team Leadership and Development
○ Manage and supervise production supervisors, line leaders, and operators.
○ Conduct performance evaluations, identify training needs, and promote continuous skills development.
○ Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.- Quality Assurance and Compliance
○ Ensure that products meet company quality standards and regulatory requirements (FDA, ASEAN Cosmetic Directive, etc.).
○ Coordinate closely with the Quality Control departments for in-process and finished product testing.- Process Improvement
○ Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in production; recommend and implement process improvements.
○ Lead projects aimed at reducing costs, improving quality, and increasing operational efficiency.- Equipment and Facility Management
○ Oversee proper maintenance, calibration, and operation of production equipment.
○ Ensure production areas comply with hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.- Reporting and Documentation
○ Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
○ Maintain accurate records of production batches, inventory movement, manpower utilization, and incidents.- Cross-Functional Collaboration
○ Work closely with R&D, Purchasing, Warehouse, Sales, and Regulatory teams to ensure smooth production flow and new product launches.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering.
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in production management, preferably in cosmetics, personal care, or household product manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), FDA regulations, and safety standards.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to a dynamic production environment.
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing plant environment (cosmetic and household product lines).
- May require extended hours during peak production periods.
- Frequent interaction with production line employees, supervisors, and other department heads.
