DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assists in preparing, maintaining, and upholding procedures for logging, reporting, and statistically monitoring PC performance.
  • Documents instances of hardware failure, repair, installation, maintenance and disposal.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of hardware and equipment contracts and supervise contract-based installations.
  • Aids in the development of business continuity and disaster recovery plans, maintain current knowledge of plan executables, and respond to crises accordingly.
  • Provides technical specifications for purchase of PCs, networking hardware and related products.
  • Recommends, schedules, and performs PC, hardware and peripheral equipment maintenance, and repairs.
  • Installs, configures, tests, maintains, monitors, and troubleshoot end user workstation hardware, networked peripheral devices, and networking hardware and software products.
  • Performs on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex PC problems for a variety of end users, and recommend and implement corrective hardware solutions, including off-site repair as needed.
  • Develops and maintains an inventory of all monitors, keyboards, hard drives, modems, printers, scanners, and other peripheral equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, including the installation of service packs, patches, hot fixes, anti-virus software, and so on.
  • Apply diagnostic utilities to aid in troubleshooting.
  • Submits required reports in a timely manner.
  • Receives and responds to incoming calls, and/or e-mails regarding PC and/or hardware problems.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Graduate of BS Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology
  • Certification in particular technology such as Microsoft, Cisco (Optional)
  • In-depth technical knowledge of network, PC, and platform operating systems, including Windows Servers, Microsoft Exchange Mail Server, Microsoft ISA Server, MS SQL Server, Antivirus Server, and other software applications and platforms (i.e., Linux, Cyberoam, etc.)
  • Broad hands-on knowledge of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, data encryption, and other industry-standard techniques and practices
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP and network administration/protocols
  • Hands-on experience with devices such as hubs, switches, and routers
  • Knowledgeable in network configuration, installation/administration, programming, and troubleshooting
  • Knowledgeable in server, laptop, desktop, configuration, and troubleshooting
