Job Summary:

We are looking for an energetic and customer-oriented Sales Clerk to join our team. The Sales Clerk will assist customers in selecting home improvement products, provide product knowledge, and ensure a well-maintained store environment. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, a passion for home improvement, and the ability to work in a dynamic retail setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service & Sales:

  • Greet and assist customers in finding home improvement and hardware products.
  • Provide expert product recommendations based on customer needs.
  • Process sales transactions, handle cash, and operate the POS system.
  • Promote ongoing sales, discounts, and special offers.

Product Knowledge & Assistance:

  • Stay up-to-date with home improvement products, tools, and materials.
  • Educate customers on product features, benefits, and proper usage.
  • Assist in product demonstrations and troubleshooting basic customer concerns.

Store Maintenance & Inventory:

  • Organize and stock shelves, ensuring products are properly labeled and displayed.
  • Monitor inventory levels and report low-stock items to management.
  • Assist in receiving, unpacking, and stocking new merchandise.

Operational Support:

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in assigned store areas.
  • Follow store safety policies and loss prevention guidelines.
  • Assist with other tasks as assigned by supervisors or store managers

Qualifications/Requirements

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Additional training in retail, sales, or home improvement is a plus.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in retail, hardware, or home improvement sales is preferred.
  • Knowledge of home improvement products, tools, and materials is an advantage.

Skills:

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Basic math skills for processing transactions.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English is an advantage.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift moderate-weight items.
  • Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
