Senior Software Engineer(VB6)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to manage the code change for the CRs for retail system. The role also involves preparing and presenting weekly reports to supervisors, ensuring transparency and proactive communication about system health and ongoing tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Bug fix and CR code change in VB6.
• Deploy updates, patches, and configuration changes in live environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve server-related issues, performing root cause analysis (RCA) when required.

Application Support and Troubleshooting:

• Handle escalated issues from L1/L2 support teams and ensure timely resolution.
• Analyze root causes and implement permanent solutions to recurring problems.

Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:

• Maintain detailed technical documentation for production environments and fixes.
• Share knowledge with L2 support teams to enhance their problem-solving abilities.
• All schedules, absences and leave requests for the PH Team must be communicated and approved by PH HR and overseeing

Qualifications;

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Experience:

• 3+ years of experience in solid vb6 development, application support.
• Experienced in Retail F&B will be add advantages.

Technical Skills:

• Proficient in VB6 and .net.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with databases such as Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
• Hands-on experience with database management and optimization.

Soft Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
