SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Repairs and overhauls electrical system in automotive vehicles, such as heavy equipment, and trucks.
- Confer with the equipment operator to determine nature of electrical malfunction.
- Determines malfunction of electrical system by visual inspection and by use of testing devices.
- Adjust ignition timing and measures and adjusts distributor breaker-point gaps, using dwell meter or thickness gauge.
- Test and repairs starters, generators, and distributors.
- Repairs or replaces defective wiring in ignition, lighting, air-conditioning, and safety control system, using electrician's hand tools.
- Records the maintenance services done on the equipment.
- Observes safety and environmental rules at the motor pool.
- Maintains good housekeeping at the shop.
Qualifications/Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education - At least Vocational Diploma/Short Course Certificate on automotive.Experience and Training - At least 5 years working experience.
