Senior AU Bookkeeper

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Australian Bookkeeper with a solid understanding of Australian accounting standards and tax regulations. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting the finance team with day-to-day bookkeeping functions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily bookkeeping functions including bank reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable
• Prepare and lodge BAS, IAS, and payroll tax in compliance with ATO requirements
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
• Process payroll using Australian payroll systems and ensure compliance with Fair Work and Superannuation requirements
• Manage month-end and year-end closing activities
• Generate financial reports and support with budget preparation
• Collaborate with accountants for end-of-year processing and tax preparation
• Maintain up-to-date and accurate records in accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks)
• Communicate with clients to clarify transactions and gather documentation as needed

• Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or similar role (preferably with Australian clients)
• Strong knowledge of Australian accounting principles, GST, BAS, and payroll compliance
• Proficient in Xero, MYOB, or QuickBooks
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage time efficiently and meet deadlines
• Degree or certification in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
