Project Engineer
Job Summary:
The Project Engineer will oversee the planning, design, and execution of various engineering projects within the cold storage facilities. This role ensures that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and meets the company's operational standards and regulatory requirements.The Project Engineer will collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and vendors to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in the construction, maintenance, and upgrading of cold storage infrastructure.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Design:
o Lead the design and planning of engineering projects related to cold storage facilities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
o Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and risk analysis to determine project requirements.
o Create and review engineering drawings, plans, and specifications.
Project Management:
o Oversee the execution of projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
o Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless execution.
o Manage procurement of materials, equipment, and services required for construction and maintenance projects.

Construction Oversight:
o Supervise the construction and installation of cold storage systems, including refrigeration units, insulation, flooring, racking, and other essential components.
o Monitor site activities, address on-site challenges, and ensure adherence to engineering plans.
o Conduct regular site inspections and ensure quality control throughout all project phases.
Budget & Cost Management:
o Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and optimization.
o Prepare detailed cost estimates and track project expenditures.
o Analyze financial impacts and recommend cost-saving measures when possible.
Technical Support & Maintenance:
o Provide technical support to operations teams regarding equipment and facility maintenance.
o Collaborate with maintenance teams to troubleshoot and resolve engineering issues.
o Assist in optimizing energy efficiency and operational performance of refrigeration systems.
Reporting & Documentation:
o Prepare regular project reports, including progress updates, budget tracking, and risk assessments.
o Maintain detailed project documentation, including contracts, permits, and as-built drawings.
Qualifications:
o Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
o Proven experience in project management, preferably in cold storage, refrigeration, or related industries.
o Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems, HVAC, and building management systems.
o Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project, and other engineering software.
o Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
o Familiarity with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
o Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
Preferred Experience:
o Experience in cold storage or food processing facilities.
o Knowledge of energy-efficient technologies and sustainable building practices.
