Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and licensed Master Plumber to oversee plumbing installation across subdivision construction projects, with special responsibility for field-verified sign and seal packages. This role ensures that installed plumbing systems — including water, sewer, and storm infrastructure — conform to approved plans, building codes, and quality standards before certification.Field inspections, compliance verification, and final certification of work are critical responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee installation of all plumbing systems on-site, including underground utilities, mains, and residential tie-ins.
- Conduct thorough field inspections of installed systems to verify compliance with approved construction drawings, applicable codes, and specifications.
- Prepare and issue sign and seal packages based on actual installed conditions ("as-built" verifications), ensuring all plumbing work is accurately represented.
- Certify and seal completed installations to facilitate municipal inspections, utility acceptance, and project closeout.
- Maintain communication with civil engineers, project managers, and inspectors to resolve discrepancies between design and field conditions.
- Review and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project documents for construction accuracy.
- Supervise plumbing crews and subcontractors, ensuring all work is performed safely, efficiently, and according to project standards.
- Identify and document field changes, and update "as-built" drawings accordingly before final sign-off.
- Ensure strict compliance with local, state, and national plumbing codes (IPC, UPC, local amendments).
- Perform system testing (e.g., pressure tests, flow tests) and prepare corresponding documentation as part of the sign and seal process.
- Attend site meetings, utility inspections, and final walkthroughs as needed.
Qualifications:
- Valid Master Plumber License
- Minimum 5+ years of plumbing experience in residential subdivision or infrastructure projects.
- In-depth knowledge of underground utilities, water distribution, sewer collection, and storm drainage systems.
- Strong understanding of plumbing codes, inspection processes, and "as-built" documentation requirements.
- Experience managing plumbing crews and coordinating with multiple trades in active construction environments.
- Proficient with field reporting, inspection documentation, and construction administration practices.
- Ability to read, interpret, and mark up construction drawings accurately.
