Cashier

Job Description

• Greet customers as they approach the checkout counter
• Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using a POS system
• Handle cash, credit/debit card transactions, and process returns/exchanges
• Provide receipts, change, and ensure customers' satisfaction with their purchases
• Answer customer questions about products, promotions, or services
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, including replenishing merchandise if needed
• Count money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure accuracy
• Ensure proper handling of promotional items, coupons, and discounts
• Assist with inventory counts and stocking shelves when necessary
• Resolve customer issues or direct them to a manager if needed
• Follow company policies and procedures for cash handling and transactions

• Previous cashier or retail experience is a plus
• Basic math and computer skills
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy with transactions
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Flexible and willing to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift light to medium-weight items
