Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Psychology or a related field.
A Master's degree in Guidance and Counseling, Psychology, or related fields.Must be a Registered Guidance Counselor (RGC) with active PRC credentials.
At least 2-3 years of experience in guidance and counseling, preferably in a school setting.
Strong Interpersonal, communication and counseling skills.
Experience in handling mental health initiatives or wellness programs within academic institutions.
Familiarity with relevant testing and assessment tools (e.g. personality, aptitude, intelligence).
Knowledge of the latest trends in mental health and student well-being.
Ability to handle sensitive matters with professionalism and discretion.
Applicants who does not currently hold a license will be considered under the following conditions:
The hiring will be on a project basis, with the understanding that the applicant commits to taking and passing the licensure exam in 2025, and; Permanent Employment will depend on successfully passing the licensure examination.
Duties and Responsibilities:
General :
The Registered Guidance Counselor (RGC) provides individual and group counseling services to students, assisting them in navigating personal, academic, and emotional Challenges. The RGC is Vital in fostering a supportive and mentally healthy campus environment by offering interventions, consultations, and proactive mental health programs.
Specific: Counseling Services
Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address students' academic, career, personal, and social concerns.Provide support and strategies for managing stressm anxiety, and other emotional challenges.
Guidance Programs
Develop and implement guidance programs such as mental health workshops, peer counseling, and student wellness initiatives.Coordinate with other campus units to create holistic programs that support student growth.
Student Assessments
Administer personality, aptitude, and interest tests, ensuring up-to-date testing tools to guide students in their academic and career paths.Provide interpretation and feedback of results to students, faculty, and parents.
Collaboration
Work closely with the Student Welfare Unit, academic departments, and student organizations to address students; academic and personal development needs.
Documentation and ReportingMaintain confidential and accurate records of counseling sessions, students progress, and referrals.
Prepare and submit regular reports in the status and needs of the Guidance and Counseling unit to the OSA Director.
Performs additional responsibilities as assigned by the OSA Director.
