About the role
FSR Tax and Accounting Services is seeking an Accounting Associate who will support the Finance and Taxation Department in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations. This role involves assisting with general ledger activities, preparing tax-related documentation, supporting monthly closings, and contributing to the preparation of financial and tax reports.The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and has a strong foundational knowledge of accounting and taxation principles
What you'll be doing- Prepares financial statements
- Assist in recording and maintaining accurate financial transactions in compliance with accounting standards
- Support the preparation and filing of tax returns, including VAT, withholding tax, and income tax
- Perform reconciliations of accounts
- Prepare supporting documentation for audits and tax assessments
- Ensure timely processing of invoices, payments, and journal entries
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities
- Maintain organized records of tax documents and financial reports
- Collaborate with the finance and taxation team to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls
- Provide support in financial data analysis and reporting as needed
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
- CPA certification or equivalent accounting qualification
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a general accounting or financial reporting role, preferably within the accounting firm industry
- Knowledgeable in preparing and filing BIR tax forms
- Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of financial statements, audit, and taxation
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficient in using accounting software and MS Office applications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
