SAFETY OFFICER
About the role
As a Safety Officer at Gencore Construction Corp., you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the health, safety, and wellbeing of our construction site teams. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining robust safety procedures across our Pampanga-based projects.This full-time role offers an opportunity to make a tangible impact on the lives of our workers while contributing to the success of our business.
What you'll be doing- Conducting regular site inspections to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards
- Developing, implementing, and continuously improving safety policies, procedures, and training programs
- Providing on-site safety supervision and training to construction teams
- Investigating and documenting all incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and implementing corrective actions
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and industry best practices
- Collaborating with project managers, supervisors, and workers to foster a strong culture of safety
- Maintaining detailed records and reporting on safety performance metrics
- A degree in Occupational Safety and Health, or a related field
- At least 3 years of experience as a Safety Officer or in a similar role within the construction industry
- Thorough knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and best practices applicable to construction sites
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and educate workers
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive and detail-oriented approach
- Proficiency in using safety-related software and equipment
- A valid driver's license and the ability to travel to project sites as needed
