The Automotive Power Product Test Engineer is responsible for the evaluation, characterization, and development of test solutions for various devices within the Isolation Business Unit. Utilizing Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) and test software, this role involves working closely with design, design evaluation, product engineering, and other teams to ensure successful correlation, improvement activities, and production release of test solutions prior to market launch.The Test Product Engineer also plays a key role in sustaining activities, not limited to product characterization, qualification, and quality compliance for cost-driven initiatives such as test time reductions, die revisions, assembly changes, and platform transfers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Characterization: Perform product test characterizations, correlations, and readiness compliance to ensure quality manufacturing release of products and solutions.
- Automation Software Development: Develop various automation test software to interface with ATE for efficient measurements and data gathering.
- Experimental Design: Formulate and execute the design of experiments, analyze results to understand device failure modes, and support designers or test development engineers in applying relevant test screens.
- Reporting: Generate detailed reports summarizing product test performance and manufacturability simulations.
- Test Board Design: Create schematics for design test boards and collaborate with the PCB team to finalize board layouts.
- Documentation: Produce comprehensive documentation on test methods and procedures.
- Cross-functional coordination: Coordinate with design, design evaluation, project management, PCB, reliability, failure analysis, and planning teams as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in test product engineering or a related role.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in using Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) and developing test software.
- Strong understanding of test methodologies and characterization techniques.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
