SENIOR PURCHASING MANAGER
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following areas of responsibility are potentially included in purchasing/buying function:- Responsible for efficient purchasing of international inventory, supplies and capital equipment for the company.
- Receive purchase requisitions and verifies for accuracy and authorization(s) as well as checks specifications.
- Source new international or overseas vendors when necessary.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders; Determine and negotiate prices, delivery and credit terms; Buy according to established company policies and procedures;
- Maintain accurate purchasing records.
- Responsible for evaluating, assessing and selecting vendors based on capabilities, performance and consistent quality assurance. Maintains rapport and good working relationships with vendors; keeps accurate vendor records.
- Evaluate overseas inventory reorder levels and quantity price breaks to determine most economical purchasing of inventory and supplies in relationship to company's cost of capital.
- Prepare monthly reports and review forecast of purchasing commitments or as required.
- Expedite purchase orders as necessary and ensure delivery of purchased items for uninterrupted operation flow.
- Payment terms negotiation, optimization and management
- Check and verify delivered materials prior to the approval of payment processing
- Stock and materials management
- Warehousing, distribution, shipping management (if applicable, or effective liaison with these functions/departments)
- International packaging and transport regulatory awareness, compliance and information communication
- Perform other purchasing or inventory control duties as necessary or as requested.
Reports to Chairman & CEO; Coordinates with Project Director and Managing Director and all departments and sites
QUALIFICATIONS
A college degree preferably in Engineering, Architecture or any related course. Good communication skills and the ability to work well with people is essential. Good leadership skills are beneficial. Familiarity with accounting, purchasing and spreadsheet applications is required.
