The Finance and Accounting Supervisor is responsible for supervising and directing a team, including general ledger, accounts payable & receivable, check processing, exception items, fixed asset, and cost accounting. They will prepare periodic reports, review, and reconcile data, and participate in the development of financial data and analytics, and budget preparation.They ensure finance processes and procedures are followed by established policies and standards and related governmental requirements. The Finance and Accounting Supervisor directs, trains, and guides a team of accountants.
Key Duties / Responsibilities:
General Accounting- Handles both AR and AP team and mainly responsible for GL / Balance sheet analysis
- Reviews regular tax returns and ensures that tax dues are adequately prepared and filed and paid on time to avoid penalties.
- Mainly responsible for taxes, permits and dues to LGUs and other regulatory bodies (PEZA, SEC, BIR).
- Handles tax assessment / audits in coordination with tax consultant d. Prepares reports for submission to regulatory bodies / agencies.
- Supervises the day-to-day activities of accounting team
- Maintains all documents and files, especially confidential ones, are properly safe kept and filed accordingly.
- Ensures that documents can be easily retrieved for audits.
- Performs other functions that may be assigned by the Finance Manager.
- Bachelor's degree in accountancy
- At least 5 years of related work experience in general accounting / financial reporting in a corporate setup with at least 2 years of handling a team
- Has experience in handling accounting entries, and month end closing activities postings such as recurring entries, accruals, and deferrals, etc
- Work in international environment supporting clients from all over APAC, work with colleagues from multiple countries on daily basis
- Work in a dynamic team with opportunities for growth
