About the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our growing sales team. This role is ideal for someone confident, articulate, and able to clearly understand and sell VA Platinum’s services to potential clients.You will be responsible for managing marketing-qualified leads (MQLs) and guiding them through the sales funnel, ultimately converting them into valuable business opportunities.
The first three months will focus on training and shadowing Australian Business Development Managers (BDMs), learning the VA Platinum way—understanding our unique business model, sales processes, and client engagement strategies. Once fully onboarded, you will be expected to conduct your own discovery calls, present VA Platinum’s offerings, and drive new business growth, working closely with both the AU and PH sales teams.
Coverage (Hours of Work): Currently 6 AM - 3 PM PH time (aligned with Australian business hours). However, as we expand into the US market, candidates should be open to potential schedule adjustments, including night shifts, depending on the US time zones we serve.
Reports to: Growth and Business Development Specialist
Ideal Candidate (Must Have Requirements)- Proven experience in sales, business development, or client relationship management, preferably in a B2B or professional services setting. Experience in offshore staffing, recruitment, or outsourcing sales is highly desirable.
- Confident, persuasive, and well-spoken, with the ability to engage high-level decision-makers.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate VA Platinum’s value proposition and handle client objections.
- A strong understanding of consultative selling, with the ability to identify client needs and tailor solutions accordingly.
- Experience working with CRM software (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive) or similar tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated to meet targets.
- Strategic and analytical mindset, able to assess leads, prioritise opportunities, and optimise the sales process.
- Quick learner with a keen interest in understanding VA Platinum’s business model, target clients, and industry landscape.
- High level of attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced environment, especially regarding potential shift adjustments as we expand into the US market.
- Engage and qualify marketing-qualified leads (MQLs), understanding their needs and nurturing them into sales-ready opportunities.
- Work alongside both Australian and Philippine-based sales teams, learning best practices in sales and client engagement.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify new business opportunities.
- Assist in developing and implementing sales strategies to expand the business.
- Maintain and update the CRM system, ensuring accurate tracking of leads and interactions.
- Participate in sales calls, meetings, and presentations alongside the AU BDMs during the initial training phase.
- Handle initial client inquiries and assess their suitability for VA Platinum’s services.
- Confidently conduct discovery calls with prospective clients, clearly explaining who VA Platinum is, what we do, and how we add value to their business.
- Deliver compelling presentations that effectively communicate VA Platinum’s services, addressing client needs and objections.
- Handover won deals to Relationship Managers (RMs), ensuring they receive accurate and detailed information gathered throughout the sales process to guarantee a smooth client transition.
- Collaborate with the sales team to continuously improve processes and optimise the sales cycle.
- Lead Conversion Rate – Percentage of MQLs successfully converted into opportunities.
- Sales Pipeline Management – Accuracy and completeness of CRM data.
- Client Engagement – Responsiveness and effectiveness in handling client interactions.
- Training Completion – Demonstrated understanding and application of VA Platinum’s sales methodology after the shadowing phase.
- Revenue Contribution – Sales closed after transitioning into a more independent role.
- Deal Handover Quality – Accuracy and completeness of information provided to RMs to ensure smooth client onboarding.
- Discovery Call Effectiveness – Ability to confidently and persuasively explain VA Platinum’s offerings, ensuring potential clients fully understand the value proposition
