Job Description
The Network Engineer III Cloud Networking is a specialized role focused on the design, implementation, and management of cloud-based network infrastructure. The role emphasizes expertise in cloud networking technologies, such as Cloud WAN, Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs), hybrid connections, and cloud-based security, while requiring a foundational understanding of traditional networking principles.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring the organization's cloud and hybrid networking environments are scalable, secure, and aligned with business goals. The Network Engineer III collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver automated and efficient cloud networking solutions, leveraging the latest tools and methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years experience as a cloud engineer or related role.
- Implementing and overseeing cloud infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge hybrid or multi-cloud topologies is required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of network topologies and implementations (e.g. VPN, LAN, WAN, Wireless)
- Experience as technical lead for a major technology implementation
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of IT network design and governance
General Knowledge and Competencies:
- Cloud Services: Proficiency in using and managing cloud services from one or more major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Networking: Strong understanding of cloud networking technologies and concepts, including Cloud WAN, WAF, VPCs, subnets, peering, security groups, and load balancers
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Knowledge of IaC tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation for automating infrastructure provisioning; Ansible and scripting languages like Python
- Security: Knowledge of cloud security best practices and tools for securing cloud environments.
- Ability to learn and understand emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the Cloud/IT technology space.
- Intermediate Infrastructure knowledge in Networking and Security.
